WHAT IT TAKES TO BE VICE PRESIDENT
KnowledgeableThe VP has to be trained and ready to be FACREP at a moment’s notice. You need to be prepared to handle any situation this occupation throws at you. From Weingarten investigations, to proposed removals. From drug and alcohol testing to what happens when there is a fatal crash. When and how to file grievances. The PAR process. How to escalate issues, and de-escalate conflicts when appropriate. How to cast a wider net to help someone in need of the VLTP. Who to talk to for help with all medical issues, physical and mental.
These situations happen every day here at ZLA. I have received trainings and experiences in all of these situations. |
Relationship BuildingI have built great relationships across this Union to give ZLA the attention it deserves.
I have been privileged to represent this local through multiple MOU negotiations with various different ATMs. I spent the last 5 years on NWP Labor Relations team to help with any labor related issues occurring in our region. I know the important of collaborative relationships and have always held all of my counterparts to the same standard. |
24/7 DedicationMajority of what I do is done on my breaks or time off.
My dedications to this local starts with you all in the operation floor through working traffic, training and helping to get the staffing numbers up. My responsibilities for VP will be done on my breaks and time off. I can make that promise not only because it is my passion, but it is also what I have already been doing for the last seven years. |
